Patterns of Interaction on the South Coast of Cyprus. A View from the Early Bronze Age Pottery Assemblages

In particular, an uninterrupted line of 44 Early Cypriot I-II villages (dating to ca 2200-2100 BC) stretching from the Episkopi Bay (Erimi) in the southwest to Pyla in the Larnaca district has been suggested following the analysis of survey data (Georgiou 2007; Webb 2014: 355-356, table 24.1). The strategic position of these settlements, between the coastal areas and the fertile land of the inland valleys, not far from the southern foothills of the Troodos mountain range, suggests that these village communities were not exclusively involved in agriculture.
