Abstract:
The distinctive characteristic of a distributed application is that information processing activities are provided by a set of cooperating, logically separate, information processing units or components. These discrete components may be located in more than one system, at more than one geographical location and evolve in parallel. Distributed Systems builded on Local Computer Networks, as well as Subsystems of Very Large Distributed Systems on Large Loosely Coupled Networks of Computers exhibit a structure of components that need to be supported by an infrastructure. This infrastructure is a collection of mechanisms offered in order to simplify the task of application designers and enhance reusability of system components.
