Recent advances in software testing theory

Notwithstanding the maturity exhibited by technology, software testing still lacks sound theoretical foundations. Finally, it seems that so long advocated research in testing theory has taken some promising directions. In this paper, recent research work on comparison of different testing methods, on analysis of their effectiveness in fault detection as well as on identification of efficient approaches to testing is surveyed.
