EUROgatherer: a personalised gathering and delivery service on the Web

In this paper an overview of EUROgatherer will be presented. It is an advanced personalised information gathering and delivery service on the Web. EUROgatherer satisfies user's information needs in several ways: through {i) ad-hoc search far satisfying users' short term information needs; {ii) content-based information fìltering; and (iii) time scheduled search, both for satisfying users· long term information needs. Techniques of relevance feedback and a complex user profile schema are used to learn and stare the preferences of subscribed users.
