Reliability of seasonal-to-decadal forecasts from a seamless prediction perspective

This contribution looks at the reliability of probabilistic predictions from months to seasons and decades ahead using the coupled ECMWF forecasting system. The effect of different averaging and lead times will be discussed and the relative importance of the initial conditions versus boundary forcing on the reliability of these predictions will be assessed.
