Genetic analysis in polypeptide subunits of phaseolin, the major storage protein of Phaseolus vulgaris L.

Three successive generations P1, P2, F1 and F2 of the common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) hybrid between the cultivars Seafarer and Swedish Brown were employed in this experiment. The investigation was concentrated on the genetic analysis of the major protein subunits with special attention to G1 and G2 fractions. Segregation for the single protein subunits and specific phaseolin pattern was also examined.
