Identification of a new arcelin variant in wild bean seeds

A common bean wild accession was found to contain two major polypeptides which strongly reacted with antibodies raised against arcelin. These polypeptides make up a new arcelin variant, arcelin 5, with electrophoretic mobility higher than arcelin 1 and Mr of 31-32 kDa.
