LOCAL and COOPERATIVE Molecular Mobility in semi- and full- Interpenetrating Polymer Networks of Poplycyanurate and Polyurethanes

Abstract:
The development of new polymeric materials frequently involve the combination of different polymers into one material. Desired properties are often obtained through novel structure and morphology design. These of multi-components systems, with their improved properties, as chemical resistance, low dielectric losses and good adhesion, greatly expand the list of available engineering polymers and the possibility of designing a material with controlled suitable characteristics. Among the prominent approaches for new materials, interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs) in different physical forms and chemical composition, constitute a developing branch of polymers technology which may intimately combine the properties of two polymers in cross-linked network form. Their morphology depends on the combination of the constituents structures and of the interpenetration process path that influences markedly the physical and mechanical properties and the glass transition temperature (Tg) of net components as a consequence of modifications in the local environments.
