Abstract:
In this chapter, we intend to describe the development of electrofluidodynamic technique as a set of processes that allow obtaining a variety of hierarchical architectures based on electrospun fibers that mimic the native extracellular matrix of tissues. Additionally, with the diameter range from microscale down to nanoscale of membrane spun fibers, this can offer a functional structural property with the possibility of the functionalization by chemical signals or living cells, opening the opportunity to understand the influence onto the microenvironment for guiding biological responses such as cell adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation due to the cell-to-cell or cell-to-material communication with applications in tissue engineering or biomedical fields.
