Abstract:
This population from the Settat area of Morocco, Latitude 33N
Longitude 7.3W consisted of 98 Caucasian individuals. The
Chaouya group are Arabic-speaking people; this population
derives from the Berber Zenata and Houwara populations that
became totally Arabic-speaking. The individuals were drawn
from a rural environment where the parents had also lived and
alleles were determined by sequenced based typing.
