The tool of AISS for program editing, abstract representation construction and program displaying

The paper describes the functiona/ities required to the syntax directed editor of A ISS whose generation will be driven by the for- ma/ definition of the language. The advantages and the problems of defining a language independed syntax directed editor are investiga- ted, and some hints are given to split it and to desing its components. The main components of the editor are concerned with building (abstract) trees starting from a program text, with manipulating them and with displaying program texts.
