Automotive biofules by catalytic hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of pyrolysis oils from forest wood
Abstract

Abstract:
TAR oil from biomass has significant quantities of refractory oxygenated compounds which must be removed to be useful as alternative fuels. Therefore, the activity of several supported CoMo/Al2O3, sulphurated with H2S at 300-400°C, has been proved in the hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) using either reactant TAR oil from forest wood pyrolysis or model reactant mixture of 2-methoxyphenol (Guaiacolo), cyclehexene, methyl-terz-butyl-ether (MTBE), butyl alcohol and acetic acid. The reaction path in the hydrodeoxygenation process approaching industrial condition have been assessed.
