abstract:
The analysis focalizes on the 'inclusion of migrants and refugees' - one of the twelve EU Urban Agenda Themes - to explore the emerging social links established to encourage local citizens to socialize as well as explaining new cultural practices. As known, cultural activities can be 1) inclusive in relation to incoming migrants and refugees and 2) responsible for the revitalization of urban wastelands.
Thus, the evidences - in the form of some network visualizations - allow us to identify the nodes (Ilhan et al: 2014) responsible for efficient social revitalization and urban productivity.
In general, we conclude that the informal communities investigated enter the 'dead' urban system to vitalize it. They occupy 'abandoned stations' and strengthen bonds of trust elsewhere dehumanized.
