Convective lyapunov exponents and propagation of correlations

The velocity of correlation propagation can be determined by the vanishing of the convective Lyapunov exponent. This provides evidence that at least some dynamical properties observed on microscopic scales persist up to macroscopic scales. This observation is connected with the issue of how many distinct velocities do exist in a typical spatiotemporal chaotic regime.
