Innovative approach to study biological science in a virtual environment

This paper presents un innovative approach based on the use of ICT to create a learning environment on the Net which can support distance laboratory activities i at school. We wanted to experiment the use of a virtual laboratory created by our research Institutes in collaboration with some local high schools. In particular, we decided to organize a virtual laboratory to create distance learning experiences in the biological fìeld. For this purpose we used sea urchins as an animal model system to study the phases of embryonic development
