Instrumental analyses used in the authentication of old paintings

The paper deals with the study of materials and technique for two icons of XIX-th century through instrumental analyses (optical and scanning electron microscopy, FT-IR and microRaman spectroscopy staining tests) in order to identify the authentication elements and the intervention to which the artefacts were subject in time.
