Initial studies on the effect of water in microfluidic radiofluorinations

Abstract:
The utilization of microfluidics in 18F-radiofluorination is gaining importance in basic research fields due to the possibility of increasing labeling yields while saving process time and precious synthetic precursor consumption [1]. During our studies on CB2 selective ligands, we prepared some synthetically difficult aryliodonium salts for allowing the introduction of 18F-fluoride into positions not amenable of traditional nucleophilic substitution [2]. The optimization of these incorporations, lead us to revisit the role of water in microfluidic radiofluorinations. Therefore, we studied the effect of adding water to our aryliodonium compounds solutions and also on 3 model aliphatic precursors.
