Termovuoto Un processo innovativo per la mofificazione termica del legno

Termovuoto. An innovative process for the thermal modification of wood. The paper reports about the Thermo- Vacuum System, a "made in Italy" project on a new sustainable technology for the thermal modification of solid wood. The process allows the improvement of some technologic and aesthetic properties of raw wood such as the durability, the dimensional stability and the colour. The project is focused on some European wood species which - thanks to the modification process - gains in value and can compete with tropical species.
