Could Big Data be the end of theory in science?: A few remarks on the epistemology of data-driven science

In this brief work, I reflect on Big Data and their implications for scientific research. In particular, I critically scrutinize the idea, advanced by some Big Data supporters, that Big Data science would represent a whole new way of doing research, in which the role of hypotheses and theories is superseded.
