THEORETICAL ANALYSIS AND EXPERIMENTAL APPLICATIONS OF X-RAY WAVEGUIDES

Planar and two dimensional X-ray waveguides (WGs) are optical elements of considerable interest both from a fundamental point of view, and for their use in microprobe experiments, ie, microimaging, microdiffraction, microfluorescence, etc. After the first demonstration of the feasibility to provide a sub-micrometre beam with planar WGs1, 2 and with 2D WG, 3 many different schemes and many applications have been demonstrated.
