The LIDA-KOR induced isomerization of ?-alkoxy substituted epoxides 1 occurs regio- and stereoselectively affording ?-hydroxyenolethers 2. The latter compounds can be hydrolyzed to protected aldols or ?,?-unsaturated aldehydes
