The Scientific Diffusion in Primary Schools. A Case of Dissemination of Knowledge on the Resources of the Marine Coastal Environment

The poster focuses on the science dissemination-related activities undertaken by the IAMC-CNR within local primary schools. The coastal marine environment and its resources are one of the economy drivers in Sicily. However, the low awareness on marine environment issues is often the main cause of environmental deterioration and this has led to an indiscriminate exploitation of marine resources. The main assumption of the poster is that the dissemination and popularization of scientific culture, in particular at school, allows a greater awareness of ecological processes by promoting an environmental-friendly culture destined to encourage greater attention on the natural phenomena surrounding us. As a result, the IAMC-CNR at Capo Granitola aims at promoting the Scientific Diffusion of marine environment scientific research and its resources.
