(-)-(1S)-Tricarbonyl(h6-2-methoxybenzyl alcohol)chromium(0) as a resolving agent for tricarbonyl (h6-2- methoxybenzoic acid)chromium(0)

Racemic tricarbonyl(h6-2-methoxybenzoic acid)chromium(0) was resolved by esterification with the enantiomerically pure tricarbonyl(h6-2-methoxybenzyl alc.)chromium(0). After hydrolysis, the resolving agent was recovered in 66% yield and with unchanged optical purity.
