Abstract:
Travel insurance that differs from other products related to retrospectively compensation, as they are to all intents and purposes not only covering services but mainly experiential real-time assistance. Insurance has a growing potential in the travel market; destination travel safety has become more important as it affects holidaymakers' decisions. Events ranging such as attacks, pandemics or natural disasters like hurricanes, volcano eruptions, earthquakes, and tsunamis, up to lesser events such as frauds and micro-crime can have significant consequences for tourists' habits. Social media and comments in fact are amplifiers of minor events able to destroy perceptions in whole locations that can have an impact negatively on travellers. Risk awareness is often ignored also in tourism management and marketing, nearly becoming a daily characteristic. During calamitous disasters, it is necessary to take prompt action to reduce their impact and damages, adequately reporting on the actual risk scenarios, which are often confined, such as earthquakes.
