Abstract:
The essay briefly presents the reality of the inland areas identified through the National Strategy produced in Italy in 2014. On the basis of reflections on the good practices reported, scenarios are outlined which, taking into account the potential of the development of sustainable tourism, succeed in valorising the tangible and intangible heritage of the small landscape zones of southern Italy. The purpose of the work is to contribute to the definition of a framework of knowledge of inland areas to orient the land use decisions and planning of the territories towards increasing sustainability and sustainable tourism.
