YAP camera perspectives in radiopharmaceutical research

Yap camera is a new concept gamma camera based on a multiscystal of Yttrium Alluminium perovskite (YAP) coupled to a position sensitive photomultiplier (PSPMT). It provides spatial resolution of about (in some prototypes better than) 1 mm. It is worth knowing if the very high resolution allowed by YAP camera can improve radiopharmaceutical research on small animals. Small field YAP camera can be very useful in radiopharmaceutical research when labelled monoclonal antibodies are studies on nude mice bearing Xenografts or when molecules provided with very selective uptake are studied on small animals.
