PROTONIC ACTIVITY IN HYDRO ORGANIC SOLVENT GRADIENTS IN ISO ELECTRIC FOCUSING EXPERIMENTS AT SUBZERO TEMPERATURES

An improved method for the subzero separation of proteins by isoelectric focusing in gels of acrylamide/ethylacrylate copolymers in dimethylsulfoxide-water mixtures is described, together with the measurements of the rate of formation and stability of the paH [protonic activity in hydroorganic solvent] gradient in gels under such conditions.
