Interstellar extinction by fluffy grains

We present a technique, based on the multipolar expansion of the electromagnetic fields, suitable for dealing with interstellar extinction problems. The preliminary results of our calculations of the extinction from model interstellar fluffy grains suggest that an appropriate choice of the parameters that characterize the grains may lead to a reliable interpretation bf the observed extinction curves.
