Abstract:
A proper extension of the contrast source extended Born model, recently introduced in the two-dimensional scalar case, is proposed to establish a novel full-wave inversion method for nonlinear vectorial three-dimensional scattering problems. In particular, a suitable auxiliary function, embedding the parameters of the unknown targets, is introduced as fundamental unknown of the inverse problem instead of the widely used contrast function. Numerical examples confirm effectiveness and reliability of the proposed inversion approach, which also favorably compares with other methods previously known in the literature.
