Abstract:
Self-assembled phosphonic molecular layers were developed, characterized by different techniques and applied in corrosive environment. The starting molecules represented different features. One where the flour atoms in the carbon chain borrowed extra wettability to the molecule; the other with a double bond allowed the post-polymerization in the SAM layer and in the case of the third one the starting molecule was already a polymer with phosphonic groups. In this paper the SAM layer formation and the influence of the three different molecular structures on the layer properties (ordering, compactness) is demonstrated as well as the connection between the layer structure and the anticorrosion efficiency is presented.
