Ruby microsphere and liquid cyrstal based tunable optical filter

Abstract:
A microsphere placed in a liquid crystal is used as an optical filter. By changing the refractive index of the liquid cyrstal, the resonance frequency of the sphere is controlled. © 2009 IEEE.
