abstract:
The vineyards, aligned in regular rows along the slopes of our hills, draw Irpinia's agricultural landscape since ages and now more than ever they receive considerable attention because of business and media boom in the wine sector. This phenomenon is accompanied by another more recent circumstance: the entrepreneurs' awareness that attaching more importance to architecture, the sector of so-called wine tourism can be further developed and increased.
The following paper contains the results of the project The wine architecture in Irpinia, developed by some researchers at Institute of Food Science of the National Research Council, addressed to the owners of those wine cellars of the Province of Avellino in Italy which have a special recognition for their design, architecture or fitting in with the landscape of the area.
