Stima della digeribilità di mangimi concentrati nel cavallo: un confronto fra metodologie diverse.

The aim of this work was to comparatively assess, by performing three "in vivo" digestibility trials differing for forage / concentrate ratio, the usefulness of the two methods of total collection of faeces and acid insoluble ash (AIA) in the determination of the apparent digestibility coefficients. Dry matter, organic matter, energy and crude protein apparent digestibility were studied for concentrate. The differences between the apparent digestibility coefficients were found to be influenced by - and to increase with - the percentage of concentrate in the diet. Regression equations with good correlation coefficients, based on the AIA method, were proposed for the extrapolation of the apparent digestibility coefficients of the concentrate alone.
