Earthen walled villages in the Shanxi Province: Laoniuwan case

The contribution describe the village of Laoniuwan located near the Great Wall in Shanxi Province in the framework of the action of the Chinese government which has paid attention to the protection and restoration of the Great Wall (Great Wall Protection Ordinance- 2006) according to Venice Charter (1964, article 1) which underlines the concept of conservation of historical monuments but also the urban or rural setting in which is found the evidence of a particular civilization
