New species and records of Philosciidae (terrestrial Isopods) from eastern Africa.

Ten species of Philosciidae are listed from eastern Africa, including five new species, viz. Aphiloscia parva, Afrophiloscia bispinosa, A. similis, A. tanzaniana, A meruina. The genus Komatia Barnard, 1932 is proved to be synonymous with Aphiloscia Budde-Lund, 1908. The species Komatia marginata Barnard, 1932, Aphiloscia congolensis damasi Arcangeli, 1950 and Aphiloscia digitata Taiti & Ferrara, 1980 are considered to be new synonyms of Aphiloscia maculicornis (Budde-Lund, 1898). The distribution of all species is recorded.
