Palynological study of the Aizoaceae and Molluginaceae from Sicily

The pollen morphology of Carpobrotus edulis (L.) N. E. Br., Mesembryanthemum crystallinum L., M. nodiflorum L., Aptenia cordifolia. (L. f.) N. E. Br. (Aizoaceae) and Glinus lotoides L. (Molluginaceae) from Sicily is described. Four pollen types are recognized on the basis of exine ornamentation and these are discussed and a pollen key is given.
