Oniscidea from Sardinia (Crustacea, Isopoda) This contribution summarizes the present knowledge of terrestrial isopods from Sardinia and surrounding islands. Information includes data from the literature and collections made by the authors and by Sardinian speleologists for about 1,100 samples. The total number of species presently recorded for Sardinia is 92, a number that is probably not too far from the real species richness of the island. For comparison, 77 species are recorded from Corsica which is smaller but with a similar environmental diversity. Distribution maps in Sardinia for almost all species are given.
