DEVELOPMENT OF ORGANIC ADVANCED MATERIALS IN POP LAB: ENERGY DEVICES AND SMART COATINGS

Abstract:
The research group of POP-Lab (Polymers, Optoelectronic and Photonics Laboratory) is multidisciplinary and includes chemists, physicists and materials scientists who work synergistically from the design and synthesis of the material, to its characterization, to the fabrication of device prototypes for smart applications in for applications in many sectors such as energy, agriculture, health, etc. The research activity of the group is focused on: oDesign and synthesis of conjugated organic materials (polymers, small molecules and recently also carbon dots) with a focus on the modulation of their optical and electrical properties through chemical "tailoring" suitable for specific applications as well as modulation of their solubility from common organic solvents to alcohol and water. oStructural, morphological, spectroscopic characterization of materials [1-3]. oManufacture and characterization of organic and hybrid multilayer devices made with solution techniques (Organic Light-Emitting Diodes, Organic Photovoltaics, Organic Photodetectors, Sensors, Luminescent Solar Concentrators, Capacitors). oManufacture and characterization of smart coating made with solution techniques suitable for automotive, packaging, biomedical application.
