Abstract:
Among new technologies, MILD combustion [1] is accepted to be one of the most promising novel concept that would respond to the requirements imposed by environmental constraints. MILD combustion features also imply a strong
flexibility with respect to the fuel thus allowing the use of low calorific value mixtures with high efficiency.
The proposed strategy is to burn mixtures highly diluted and preheated. In pratical systems this is reached recycling exhaust gases, mainly consisting of CO2 and H2O. Such non inert species, deriving also from presence of diluent in
low calorific value fuels, may alter the kinetic routes by means of thermal and chemical effects.
