Publication Date:

abstract:
The paper contains an edition of an anonymous vernacular translation of Boethius's De consolatione Philosophiae, transmitted solely by the Ms. II III 131 of the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale in Florence, dating from the middle of the 14th century and linguistically localizable in North Italy, probably between the Veneto and Emilia. The text of the Ms. II III 131 is here published for the first time, and the edition is accompanied by notes facilitating the understanding of the relations between the translation and the Latin original.
