Dynamic processes of atmospheric mercury in the Mediterranean region

This chapter chapter presents an overview of natural and anthropogenic sources of atmospheric mercury in the Mediterranean basin, the available data on ambient levels of atmospheric speciated mercury at coastal and open sea locations, and the integrated modelling system developed to evaluate spatial and temporal distributions of ambient concentrations, dry and wet deposition fluxes and re-emission rates with changing meteorological conditions.
