Chemical and mineralogic characteristics of Borogypsum produced by acid dissolution of colemanite at Larderello (Italy).

Large amount of borogypsum, the by-product of the acid boric industrial extraction from colemanite, were produced at Larderello industry and discharged into the environment during the last century, before the regulations for environmental concern were established. In this study we investigate the chemical and mineralogical characteristics of the waste, to define geochemical tracers of this source for environmental application.
