Catalytic degradation of polystyrene in inert-gas stream

The degradation of polystyrene was carried out in nitrogen stream with and without catalyst at different temperatures (400-500°C). Two silica-aluminas were employed as catalysts. The presence of catalyst scarcely influenced the extent of global degradation, but heavely affected the distribution of products.
