abstract:
The spread of Covid-19 has been accompanied by containment measures that have forced a reorganisation of work.
Since the national lockdown of spring 2020, agile work, more precisely home working, has become a widespread
reality throughout the country, causing an overlap more than a reconciliation between life and work. The alienation
from formal and informal networks due to physical distancing, in many cases has gone hand in hand with the rise of
a new form of work alienation, particularly for women, because of the deregulation of agile work and the influence
on behaviours of gender stereotypes. The Observatory on the Ongoing Social Changes Covid-19 of the CNR-Irpps
MUSA research group carried out two national surveys starting from March 2020, analysing many behavioural trends
triggered or amplified by the spread of coronavirus, including the influence of the workplace on individual well-being,
tracing a correlation between agile work and negative primary emotions. Indeed, during these months primary emotions
were strongly shaken not only by the pandemic event, but also by the workplace, especially when women working
from home had to bear both the burden of family care and their work.
