IDENTIFICATION OF DNA SEQUENCES RELATED TO XYLELLA FASTIDIOSA IN OLEANDER, ALMOND AND OLIVE TREES EXHIBITING LEAF SCORCH SYMPTOMS IN APULIA (SOUTHERN ITALY)

Investigations on a novel and severe disease affecting olive trees in Apulia (southern Italy ) disclosed the presence of infections of Xylella fastidiosa in olives, oleander and almond trees. This is the first report of infections in field caused by this quarantine bacterium in the EU territory.
