A new leaf gall-nematode on Nothophagus obliqua in Chile

During a routine nematode survey in southern Chile in 1998, severely galled leaves of N. obliqua were collected. Preliminary morphological studies indicated that the causal agent was a new species belonging to Afrina in the Anguinidae family. This is the only Afrina species inducing galls in leaves of a tree.
