A model-based approach to design Modular Plant Architectures

Modern production industry - facing the challenges of an open, dynamic and distributed market - is forced to react rapidly in order to promote competitive and sustainable growth. Quick and efficient reaction to changing tasks and boundary conditions can be realised through an integrated design approach based on modular factory concepts which is being developed in the EU-funded research project "Modular Plant Architectures" (MPA).
