An Unusual Form Of COPD Case-finding: The ERS Spirometry Tent

Aim: to report prevalence rates of airflow obstruction (AO) in those attending the Spirometry Tent at the ERS Congresses in 2004-08. Methods: 10853 subjects who voluntarily performed spirometry and completed a simple questionnaire during the Spirometry Tent events. Portable spirometers, nurses and doctors from pulmonary departments were freely provided by local hospital/universities. GOLD criteria for diagnosing and grading AO were used.
