abstract:
A careful analysis on Fjòdor Dostojevskij epilepsy allowed us to look on the inside his late youth characterized by a solitary, shy, and neurasthenic nature; his behavior was characterized by a disease which was always ready for action. And, when it showed itself, getting worse as years go by, it played the leading role on the nature, and sensibility of Russian writer who during his literary maturity e more precisely in his most important works, "The Idiot", "The Devils", "Karamazov Brothers", does not forget his great muse: the epilepsy. Dostojevskij make it by three characters of these works, My?kin, Kirillov, Smerdjàkov, respectively, who represent the pains, the torments, and the fears of the writer but also his delight to feel God near him, surprising, and not unusually.
As for other men of a great talent, it can be real that a disease, in special way when it is a neurological disease, improves the artist and his art
