Geological explorations in the Italian-French cross-border areas (Western Alps) from 19th to early 20th century

The aim of this contribution is to outline a few differences, interactions and complementarities of geological explorations in the Italian-French cross border areas in the Western Alps during the 19th and early 20th centuries. With this objective, this contribution selects a few studies that have been references for further investigations, resulted fundamental for the present knowledge of the Western Alps
